A book I've been wanting to write for years!
I conceived the idea for FIRST LADY years ago, long
before you-know-who was in the White House. I kept asking
myself who would ever want this job? No pay. No job
description. And your whole life goes under a microscope.
Eventually, the character of Cornelia Case began to take
shape in my mind. Nealy is a woman who's spent much of her
life under Secret Service guard. She was the child of a Vice
President and the wife of a President. At the beginning of
the book, shortly after the death of her husband, Cornelia
Case has had enough! She's more than ready to escape the
White House. Unfortunately, her father and the new President
have other ideas. As Nealy sets out to escape Washington, I
was faced with quite a dilemma. How does the most famous
woman in the world hide in plain sight? (When you find out,
please don't post the answer in any of your reviews!!!)
Creating a hero special enough for her was a real challenge.
She's an American aristocrat, a child of privilege. Who was
she going to fall in love with? Another aristocrat? I don't
