From the Back Cover
Have you ever noticed that over the years Gary Larson had
a tendency to drink from some favorite wells of inspiration?
(The Cow Well alone seemed to go all the way to China.) Well,
for 1999, we dedicated each month to a different theme and
introduced it with a special page announcing the theme's
title and featuring a new cartoon. Count on an entire month
dedicated to the Old West, also known as "Get Off Your
High Horse," and one honoring dinosaurs that we refer to
as "Extinct and Loving It," and we couldn't forget
our beloved carnivores, "Tastes Like Chicken." It's
a new way to think about the last twelve months leasing to
the turn of the millennium. And we think it's the most
exciting calendar concept since the switch from Julian to
Gregorian.
